Miss Earth Ireland Places In TOP 20 at Miss Earth Finals & Wins Gold!

Alannah Larkin at Miss Earth Finals

Current title holder Alannah Larkin continued her amazing reign as Miss Earth Ireland with a fantastic performance at the Miss Earth Finals in the Philippines. The Galway native secured a history making Top 20 placing at the finals which is Ireland’s first time placing in the International final. Alannah also wowed the judges in the other areas of the competition by wining Gold in the talent competition for her spectacular talent performance which consisted of  singing and traditional Irish dancing. She also won bronze in swimwear during the preliminaries rounds of the competition before capping off the most amazing trip with the award for best eco-video for Europe. This caps off an amazing year for Alannah as Miss Earth Ireland with even more exciting activities in the pipeline. A huge well done to Alannah from all the team at Miss Earth Ireland  you have done yourself, the team and Ireland so proud! 

Miss Earth Ireland 2022

Miss Earth Ireland 2022 is Alannah Larkin who represented Ireland at the Miss Earth finals in the Philippines, with 90 other contestants from around the globe.18-year-old Alannah who is from Eyrecourt, wowed the judges at the Miss Earth Grand Finale Gala in Mount Falcon Estate in Ballina in May this year, earning her place at the finale in Parañaque, Philippines on Tuesday, November 29.For Alannah, the contests environmental advocacy was a big part of the allure for her.“I loved Miss Earth’s message of ‘beauties for a cause’. Miss Earth is so much more than a pageant with the whole aspect of preservation conservation and environmentalism. Being a part of a group of women that strives to change the world for the better is so rewarding and special.”Alannah is studying to be a primary school teacher in Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, says that her advocacy for the “education of young people to be more eco-conscious in their daily lives” is a large part of her desire to join the pageant which emphasises environmental sustainability.Alannah hopes she can encourage people to be more conscious in their consumption.“If everyone reading this made a conscious effort to monitor the products that they are buying, their waste separation and their daily carbon footprint, it would be an amazing achievement.”

What is Miss Earth Ireland ?

Miss Earth Ireland is an annual environmentally themed beauty pageant which selects the Irish representative for Miss Earth, one of the biggest international pageants in the world. A competition with a difference, Miss Earth Ireland’s mission is “beauties for a cause” and strives to promote environmental awareness, conservation, sustainability and social responsibility as well as to highlight the Irish tourism industry and all it has to offer.Applications are now open for the 2022 selection! 

The Experience

First and foremost, we pride ourselves on providing a friendly, fun, inclusive and empowering experience for all our finalists, with countless opportunities to grow in confidence and knowledge through workshops in sustainability, modelling, social media, interview techniques and so much more, as well as extensive media coverage and promotion. Our finalists have so much fun and forge lifelong friends with all the other finalists . Each finalist participates in the following activities in the build up to our grand final

It is so important to us at Miss Earth Ireland to do our bit for the planet and we take our role very seriously. This year we have chosen VOICE as our official charity partner.
VOICE is a member-based Irish environmental charity that empowers individuals and local communities to take positive action to conserve our natural resources. Our fabulous  Miss Earth Ireland finalists will raise money for VOICE through their various fundraisers so please support them. We are so proud of our wonderful finalists. Miss Earth Ireland has a large charity element to it and this year’s finalists raised over €3,000 for VOICE Ireland, an environmental charity that empowers individuals and local communities to take positive action to conserve our natural resources.

Alannah Larkin was crowned Miss Earth Ireland 2022 in a glittering competition held on Saturday, May 28 at Mount Falcon Estate in Ballina.The 18-year-old student from Eyrecourt in Galway bested over 20 other beauties to win her national beauty title. She will now prepare to represent Ireland at the international Miss Earth 2022 pageant later this year.”I had the most surreal night last night surrounded by the most amazing people. I am honored to be representing Ireland for Miss Earth 2022,” she shared on social media after winning the competition.Tierna Maguire, Claudia Nigowska, and Tessy Ehiguese were the rest of the Top 4 finalists and were named the elemental court Miss Earth Air, Water, and Fire, respectively.

All our finalists start their journey at the Miss Earth Ireland Orientation Day. This is where our finalists grt to meet each other and the team for the first time. This year our Orientation day took place at Mount Falcon Estate in Co. Mayo which is one of the most stunning and scenic hotels in Ireland. Our finalists were greeted to a prosecco reception, bird display in addition to receiving their official goodie bags. It was also the official venue for our Grand Finale Gala event to choose the new Miss Earth Ireland. 

One Tree Planted Global Partners

We strive to do great work for our country and planet by promoting greater environmental awareness through a number of initiatives. We are very excited to be teaming up with with environmental charity One Tree Planted and we will plant a tree for every lady that enters Miss Earth Ireland 2022. One Tree Planted is a  charity with a mission to help global reforestation efforts. The organization is built on a network of individuals, businesses, and schools who either donate monetarily or volunteer to help plant trees around the world. The charity was founded in 2014 by Matt Hill, and is based out of Shelburne, Vermont. The organization operates in six regions across the world, including Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America and the Pacific. One Tree Planted works with other NGOs and governmental agencies including the United States Forest Service (USFS), World Resources Institute, and several State Forest Services and Regional Conservation Districts
